derekjeterAn ailing Perth Amboy teen got his Christmas wish a little early this year with a visit from Yankees’ captain Derek Jeter.

Fourteen-year-old Richard Guillen has a form of bone cancer called ostersacoma. He was diagnosed earlier this year.

The Make-a-Wish Foundation of New Jersey arranged for Guillen to take a limo to the Marriot Marquis Hotel in Manhattan to meet Jeter.

When he got there, Jeter made him an honorary member of Jeter’s Leaders, a youth group promoting academic performance and community responsibility.

Guillen says it was a dream come true.

His mother says her son gets paralyzed with excitement can’t always find words. However, the big smile on his face spoke plenty.
