Inglewood Today

From among dozens of lovely, talented, and accomplished young women of color, 24-year-old Inglewood, California native Jalondra A. Davis captured the title of Miss Black California USA. She will represent the state of California at the Miss Black USA Pageant in the summer of 2009. Throughout her reign, she will travel the state to promote her platform of ‘Infinite Inspiration: Strengthening Access to Arts and Culture in Urban Communities.’

The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the self-development, scholarship, and service of African-American women, and it is the single largest source of scholarship funds for Black women.  Jalondra, who holds a BA in English from Loyola Marymount University and Masters of Professional Writing from USC, will be competing for a scholarship in order to pursue her Phd. She plans to publish contemporary fiction and teach literature and writing at the college and community levels.

An aspiring novelist, Miss Davis’s writing has appeared in several publications.  Also an experienced dancer, she has trained in ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop, West African, and Afro-Caribbean, won prizes in the Miss Dance Drillteam USA and Showstoppers competitions, and worked with some of the top choreographers on the West Coast.  Miss Davis has choreographed for school musicals, performance workshops, and student films and has performed as a soloist at events such as the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. National Convention, U.S. Postal Service Multicultural Fair, and Speaker of the State Karen Bass’s Inaugural Reception.  She has modeled locally and won titles in the Alpha Phi Alpha Miss Black and Gold and Miss America Scholarship Pageants before winning the California preliminary for Miss Black USA.

This writer, dancer and spoken word poet is available for speaking engagements, dance and poetry performances, and to conduct dance and creative writing workshops for youth and adults. 1. You may wish to check to see should they have access
to a store either locally or online before making the purchase.
The natural complacency that many relationships
belong to after the initial rush is over will be the main culprit.

For the buying price of $3 you can be capable to buy a few more gifts
    for your co-worker.
