The Alliance of Business Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE) recently elected Anthony R. Kitchens as its newest President. A highly-respected businessman and Chicago native, Kitchens is also the President and CEO of KBS Computer Services, a 16-year-old, full-service IT firm based in Olympia Fields, Illinois just south of Chicago.

Kitchens joined ABLE in 2001 as one of its youngest members. Within a year, he was elected Treasurer and served on several key committees. Earlier this year, he took office as President after serving as Vice President.

“ABLE represents the most talented, visionary, capable and successful African-American business owners in the country and I look forward to positioning our members to do more business with the top corporations, non-profits and public sector institutions nationwide,” said Kitchens. He also plans to “build strong relationships with corporate boardroom executives and global business leaders on behalf of ABLE members.” Kitchens is serving a two-year term.

In addition to electing Kitchens President, ABLE also welcomed a new Executive Director. Donna Gaines brings nearly 30 years of entrepreneurial, business development, and organizational management experience to ABLE and is in charge of directing the organization’s member and corporate relations initiatives. She previously served as the Executive Director of the International Trade Bureau at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition under the leadership of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.

“Donna’s vision, professionalism and enthusiasm have generated a renewed sense of commitment among ABLE members. We are very pleased that she has joined us as Executive Director and with the help of our esteemed Executive Committee and members, ABLE will go to the next level,” said Kitchens.

Founded in 1992, ABLE is comprised of a highly-select group of African American CEOs from Chicago and neighboring cities who represent a cross-section of industries and professions. The average ABLE member has been in business for more than 10 years and provides products and services to Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. The organization is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship and building pathways to wealth and economic independence. ABLE is a non-profit organization. http://www.AbleChicago.com
