2007 great year for producer Will Packer

with 3 comments

He started 2007 with “Stomp the Yard” and ended the year with “This Christmas” and they earned over $100 million to date.  The Daily Variety identified him as one of “10 Producers to Watch”; he was the only African American honored. Black Enterprise listed him as one of the “Most Powerful Players Under 40”. Packer is the owner of Rainforest Films.

In 2008 Packer is slated to produce several projects including action movie Bone Deep and the urban remake of the classic film The Big Chill.

  1. Well it’s good to see black producers producing but those two movies mentioned were not very likable to me.

  2. Cosign with Mike on “Stomp the Yard”. “This Christmas” was…OK…but very predictable.

  3. I didnt see either of the movies. His next will be 2008’s “Three Can Play That Game”, a sequel to Vivica A. Fox’s 2001 “Two Can Play That Game” with Morris Chestnut. I’m thinking you two might not like that one, LOL.
