Lloyd nominated for head of SC State Law Enforcement Division
U.S. Attorney Reggie Lloyd was nominated by South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford to become chief of the State Law Enforcement Division. In 2006 he became the first black lawyer to be named permanent U.S. attorney for South Carolina since Reconstruction.
Lloyd is a former circuit court judge. He would become just the third SLED chief in the past 50 years and the first African-American to hold the position if approved by the state Senate.
